West Central Alberta Coldest, wettest edge

I think it is safe to say that most of the people who lived through the 80's, just like those who lived through the 30's won't make the same mistakes within their careers.  Which is why cycles such as Kondratieff end up as 50 to 60 years.  That is when another generation is ready to repeat their forefathers mistakes and learn from them the hard way.  They will still make different mistakes, with different unintended consequences, but history likely won't repeat until us young whipper snappers get cocky and start ignoring everything that the older generations learned last time, and they themselves are no longer active in the business.  Same thing applies to most things in life.  We all know people who grew up during the 30's and how risk averse they were for the rest of their lives.

By that logic, we would have 15 or more years to go before repeating the 80's.  Not that all will be rosy in the meantime.   By that time we can all ignore the wisdom and experience of people like Tara Farms, if they are still around, pronounce that this time it's different, with not enough voices to tell us otherwise, and go repeat the same things.  Still too many people actively involved who know what happened last time, to repeat it right now.  IMHO.
