What cold?   It's barely getting below freezing right now.  I wouldn't even worry about the sprayer sitting out in this stuff. 

There is no 'normal'.....there are avgs but not normal.  Don't confuse the 2.  Avgs are the middle ground of the extremes.  We 'avg 3.5" of rain in July but it isn't normal to get 3.5 +/- of rain in July.  It is either an inch or 7.
