Hillsdale Michigan | $7-$8 corn was a real hartbreak for us in 12, as the milk price was around $16 a cwt, ,we ran out of feed and had to sell the cows at a loss,you do not make much feed on no rain,we averaged 1 ton hay and 2 ton corn silage, and had to buy $250+ hay $800 at ton soy and $8-$9 corn back for feed, and now we have a lot of super young want to be farmers who think they need to farm everything in site and are paying rental rates to the moon, a night mare that still lives here
