Subject: If the updates

Aberdeen MS
were done, which after the first failure they generally were, and used correctly, they were dependable to a good degree.

The problem when those came out, was it was a transition from the "old style", mostly direct mechanical connection between the engine and the wheels.

With our 1980 2590, it gave some problems, but it was mostly due to my uncle that had all his experience coming from a R JD and 930 Case doing the heavy tillage work.

differential lock was only to be used until you were spinning out in a mud hole with one side, so you engage it at full power to get the other side to help out. The half mile drive to the field was sufficient on a good crisp fall morning to drop the plow in the ground and go full power with less than 10 mins for warm up and the drive to the field was done at wide open. 1st to 3rd on the power shift? Well I want 3rd so it was a direct slam from 1st and the reverse was true when wanting to go from 3rd to 1st... pull to 1st from wide open, throttle back just before your turn.

but it was the tractors fault it didn't hold up, that's the way the 930 and R worked... a tractor is a tractor.
