| On a bright note, I agree with Ben on the working off the farm through college, having done it myself, I learnt a lot about the industry, myself and made connections through summer internships that would later become a career before coming home in the end.
Better make mistakes, connections and learn new prospectives (on different farms or large companies) off the farm before coming home, than making those costly mistakes or struggle to connect with industry coming home right away, if you have that opportunity through college, that is again if you have that chance. Seems the more humble farmers in the world have taken a similar path both big and small, size is not a deciding factor in humbleness. | |
