| On wheels that have a spacer between the bolt and rim ( like combine wheels and duals ) , then there should be no paint under the spacer, on the rim or under the flange head of bolt. Deere says the paint can work loose, thus reducing torque of the bolt and could allow loosening.
Those look like cone seat type bolts ?, in a perfect world, its best not to have paint under there either, so take it for what its worth ( same reason as above ).
If you have new gold or silver hardware, then paint is not necessary, like new hardware is from factory.
Another thing that can happen is you get enough paint buildup over time, it can make the socket go on harder and hard to get bolt out of socket...
In your situation, one the bolts are torqued, especially after driving back and forth a few times if you really want to seat them in, then you should be able to paint.
FWIW, I touch mine up with a brush, and lately, been buying the chrome / SS nut covers like used on the big OTR trucks.
Those rims look nice, a little tire dressing or wet n black and you are ready for the show... :-) | |
