Faulty engineering. !!!!!

Everything sounds about right the way you wrote it. The steering wheel will jerk a bit when the auger swing valve opens and closes. The auger will stop swinging while you raise the header and sometimes stop when turning. Sometimes the header wont go up if you have the hydro at full throw. The system was engineered for profit to the factory, not the farmer. If you want to make the auger swing faster, you can drill out the orfices at the stack valve. Just dont drill them much. You can buy new ones easy enough, or install throttling valves in the lines if you screw up the drilling. But then the auger will be using more fluid which the system cant supply which is why you are having the issues you have now. Its the way it is, so you have to somewhat change your habits around the machines capabilities, or put up with it. One thing that does help is to keep the paper filter element new and use good quality fluid.
