NW IL, Mercer County | I buy all my seed, chemicals, and fertilizer through my local FS. Why? Because I used to work there and the salesman is top notch. I'm 100% confident in his abilities to recommend the right products and programs for my acres. Could I make these decisions myself and save $ buying elsewhere? Of course I could, but I want another person to be able to bounce ideas off of that has seen 1000's of acres of different products and farming practices. He knows my farm and my soils. That is worth some $ to me. I'm not looking for the cheapest price. Sometimes you get what you pay for.
Nothing against those that want the cheapest price and no service. Its not any more right or wrong versus what I do. Its just not the way I buy my farm inputs. | |
