We had a six row gerringhoff and now an 8 row. Both do a good job, I will say they are aggressive and will cause header loss in dry corn. Also in down corn they don't gather it in as nice as my old hugger head. I got it for the chopping ability and that's where it shines. I have variable speed on the header so in tougher conditions I will speed it up so I can drive faster. Generally we go 4.5 to 5.5 mph.
