Its a nice idea, but I like to be grounded in reality vs living with feel good emotions. Ethanol as its currently constructed is a niche fuel or fuel additive.....It is not a replacement for Gasoline, Diesel, LNG, Propane....etc.
Even if we collected every ounce of stover, cellulose and organic material from the field I doubt we'd even come close. The magnitude of the amount of energy demanded every day is staggering. Its the equivalent of thinking you are going to replace all coal fired power plants with solar panels, it just isn't going to happen anytime soon. | |
