They've got a massive problem. The aging population is going to crush their economy. They're trying to shift to a consumptive economy like the US, but they missed one mega-key in doing that... The US made that transition while our population was growing and we had incredibly high birth rates (baby boomer generation). That's what allowed the shift in the US. They are already facing the downhill slide on the demographics while they're trying to make the shift. We're going to have enough trouble even maintaining it even a generation after we made the shift.

It's going to be an awfully bumpy ride for them.
