SW KS, near Dodge City | Todd, I agree with the disclaimer. My stance though, is that is a lot more of an emotional "want" than a business reason. Now, if you're doing it because of counter party risk, then yes, valid business reason. But "just because" is not a valid business reason. Now golfnut is very likely to be in a position to do that "just because". But there might be a lot of eyes reading it that aren't in that position, but they think that's a more than valid practice reading on here that a lot of people handle it that way.
I know he was a lender, and I'm also a lender, and what I've seen over the last 5 years is that a lot of farming operations have lost a lot of business discipline with the margins we've had that have guaranteed supersized profits. That means a lot of people will have to start making decisions from a slightly different frame of reference than when cashflows were huge. | |
