SW KS, near Dodge City | I'm not saying it doesn't have risk... But to "just have control of it" is a terrible argument by itself.
Now, if you say "I want control of it because of counter-party risk" then that's a valid argument. Or "I need to convert the crop to cash to purchase a set of bred cows that are well in the money, but I don't have the down to borrow for them" is a very valid argument.
But, if you're just saying "I want it in cash and in a CD because I want it"... Wellllll, I'm saying that has no validity, outside of wants.
I'm also not advocating deferring income or not deferring income. Each strategy has its benefits and costs, and each is very situation specific. | |
