Food prices in our country are as if the farmer was getting 10 bucks for wheat and corn, and 4 dollars a lb for hogs and cattle, the retail cost of groceries is nuts, how about 3.87 a lb for green beans, 3.54 a lb for mushrooms, 15 dol lars a lb for sirloin stk, I would say the people that live paycheck to paycheck know and realize how cheap and abundant their food supply is, In Canada I am watching hutterite colonies become retail giants for off farm sales, and are making a killing, because they are competing with Safeway, Superstore, oops same company, no competition, just jack up the prices people have no choice, the problem is not with profits on your agricultural product, its how it is divided up, with the farmer share actually shrinking.
