Well I'm disappointed but not that surprised you couldn't find anything. Anyone can, and at various times is, on the wrong side, comercials, speculators, whoever. The only thing you can count on is that as the board offers increasing profit levels, someone will take it which is what you see.
It doesn't mean the information is irrelevant though. Market buzz was that wheat picked up 30 cents quickly in a couple days because funds were too short. Some people might think those interpretations are just noise, but I think there's something to them. So I still think monitoring CFTC and open interest data can help identify opportunities, even if they're short term.
