Subject: RE: 3 billion in cuts to crop insurance

Our beans were decent up until the June 11 planting date.  June 20 were horrible (planted into conditions that we could barely pull through, unfortunately we weren't clever enough to put two very large tractors chained together in front of each planter, and were under a severe storm warning on the way home to put them in the shed).  July 4-5 beans are mediocre, that's when everybody with anything left pretty much threw in the towel here.  I honestly think our later planted beans would have been much, much better without that haze that came down from the wildfires.  They just couldn't achieve the vegetative growth that they would have with "normal" sunlight.
