Formerly NE North Dakota, now NW MN | Thought provoking indeed. I hadn't considered it.
Honestly I know nothing about Mexican production areas. How about PL480 or whatever that program is- does that program ever send beans down to Mexico? If so, I'm thinking, watch the smaller bean guys, the ones that do more of the PL program stuff, they'll probably be the first to turn the market.
I received a phone call from a buyer that I have a very good relationship with. I had been stressing to him that I'd like him to at least make an offer for a new crop contract. It wasn't super-purdy, though I thanked him for at least giving me the call and giving me the option. The number he gave me would require at least 26bags to breakeven, so... that's not a particularly comfortable place to be starting.
I think if we can push the old crop board price back to 24ish, I'll be letting em all go.
What do you think about navies/white beans Sat? |
