Ontario's middle east
It is often the case that the carry coming out is with nearby strength, hence the term "bull spreading". Makes sense when you think about it as the market wanting grain right now. I believe the biggest factor pulling spreads in right now is slow farmer selling. Think of the implications of that though .... A flattening spread structure will limit basis improvement if that continues. The basis follows the spreads.

So it seems the Crabby Paddy Index would indicate an imminent rally.....I didn't imply anything bullish or bearish with my reply, I simply implied it wasn't better for the producer to have their beans frozen in ND come Feb when the export program switches to SA supply. We have been over the attributes of a stranded asset before so I will cut to the chase and say it a little more blunt..... You guys are fortunate to have some good merchandisers out there that recognize opportunity when they see it and act on your behalf........ Tara, I might need my lead balloon back.....
