We had the drought of 1980 plus the high interest rates. But we also had multiple buyers go into bankruptcy where we had a few hundred thousand of inventory. Learned a lot about bs. Why should we have to deliver grain on a contract when it's clear the buyer can't ever pay?
I remember thinking when interest rates fell to 12 percent how great that was.
