Subject: RE: street view picture

Kingston,Mi
Google uses a fleet of small cars with a group of antenna's and a rotating camera to capture the street view images. They use gps reference addresse,s for the digital photos being recorded. The satellite photos (at least those used in the United States) are from Government satellite's, at a certain altitude the photos switch from satellite to good old aerial photos taken by an airplane. The ownership is in the attributes in the lower edge of the photo (where the apparent elevation is located), Farm Services Agency contracts the aerial photos for measurement services. These photos have to be adjusted (by moving the projection point) until the air photo matches the surveyed corners. The correction has to be done before their release so that soil maps, property lines and other uses actually display where they are supposed to be.
