I don't remember the big government payments until the late 80's and 90's. I think they had a higher loan rate in the late 70's and then they cut the loan rate and there was not a lot of help until things were real bad. I do remember the pic year when a lot of crops got plowed under but I can't remember what year that was. The 0-92 program had to cost  a lot of money if that was in the early 80's.
