Someone else mentioned it in the 80s post above. If we had crop ins back then like we do now, it would of let a few more operations pull thru. My dad has told me that several times last few yrs. If he had had ins like now he would still be farming but 2 yrs if raising 0 and 100% of what you raised got fed to livestock so bought back all that feed while paying 18% interest didn't take long for equity to disappear.
Think a lot forget how helpful the ins is in bad yrs with the money we handle now. | |
