You didnt stop the govt from manipulating the dollar value, use embargoes and other grain supply manipulations, sweeping regulations on agriculture.
Dropping all farm supports 100% but still letting the govt meddle in farm business would be a disaster.
Tho I certainly don't like 75% of the current farm programs and would like things very different, much less than what we have.....
CRP is a wildlife thing, taxpayers get their benefits from that such as it is. And a basic simple safety net to catch agriculture when the govt pulls the rug out from us, or there is a regional weather issue are good things for ag and a much better thing for poorer people around the globe. and what the govt is for!
If we don't want such a basic govt involvement, we need to be prepared for a vastly different world outlook on food supplies and costs in the world. There would be on heck of a roller coaster on both, and people around the globe would be much much worse off.
