Subject: RE: Lowest cost feeder cattle hedge?

Texas

Brandon, I have been looking at short term hedging with buying puts to keep cost down and then getting the roll up with a new short term hedge if the market allows, while selling puts to help with the costs and still leaving a little room at the top.

What spread do you guys think is the best money spent and how would you get all the way to next summer without spending a lot of dough?

$75 to $90 per head is too much for the budget to pencil in.  I need to find a way to hedge on the cheap to protect against a loss.  I'm willing to trade the top for the lower costs.
