NW Iowa | I'm told by industry folk that confinement hogs at market weight should consume 5-6# of feed a day. But we have 7 pigs in a yard at home where they can be outside and inside, no ventilation, with some deep bedding for nights.
They're about 130# right now and eating a total of about 45# per day which is just over 6# per head per day, and they don't seem to gain particularly fast.
Should this be expected?
