Sad part is we do not need very many farmers any more. You dont use hoe to chop weeds or a fork to clean a barn. I make a living has a sto on what 4 guys did 40 years ago.
Wait a second I use a fork to clean my barns still!!! Are you saying there is another way? Do tell!!! At 36 my hope is to be full time by 50, dont know if it will happen, but working full time off the farm to make on the farm work is what I am looking at for at least the next decade or two, I will just finally be rolling when I hit your average land owners age. I will say if my wife and I ever get some luck to roll our way and have children I hope to be able to allow them the opportunity to farm full time at a younger age than I will be afforded, but that will take me building the farm into one that is profitable enough to allow such an opportunity. |
