I would run chain in slow position as your variable will increase chain speed. What I have done with cobs this year is 250 rpm concave at .9 bottom sieve all the way open and keep top chaffer down as much as possible. I feel a lot of cob pieces are a result from returning through rotor. Overloading the shoe is a result of too much return.
