| Exports are off a little as are corn and beans, but recent announcements on beans indicate excellent sales are being made. Importers certainly know how to play the markets and keep their cards close.
But, sorghum is taking up a large part of the slack in feed grains.
Interesting is the BDI: http://www.bloomberg.com/quote/BDIY:IND. The five year shows very low shipping costs and with very dry conditions in other producing countries the main problem may simply be the high US $.
All in all, demand is there and the CME is not necessarily indicative of grain pricing, but of computer trading.
Export sales can change momentarily, but inspections are reasonably solid. | |
