South central Minnesota | as the Argentinians have found, holding bushels vs reals or bartering is the way of life when inflation becomes rather high. Fortunately for the Brazilians it hasn't reached a level that those to the south are dealing with but they have seen extreme inflation before, not all that long ago in fact so they know owning the bushels is better than owning the reals and watching the value decline. How would you like to be the Brazilian selling before you grow the crop and not knowing what your reals will bring when you are paid. | |
