![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=35550&type=profile&rnd=279) Death comes to us all. Life's but a walking shadow | A month ago following the ProFarmer Tour I tallied up production using both the USDA Aug. yield estimate and the PFT estimates. The USDA & PFT came in at 168.8 and 163.8 respectively giving 13.68 & 13.28 billion bushel with 81.1 million harvested acres. With the exception of South Dakota all the PFT yield estimates were 3 to 20 bushel lower than the USDA resulting in a 400 million bushel difference.
Now, a month & a half later do we know with any more certainty which yield estimates might be closer? Not that it matters too much because unless the Sept stocks report has a surprise there will be a good cushion anyhow. |
