Nwmo | Boehner doesn't step down until Oct 30 and has a deal to push everything through the tea party doesn't want before he steps down. A shutdown might happen but it depends a lot on whether Boehner's replacement is an establishment type like he was or a conservative. Also McConnell has to decide if he wants to stay or go and if he stays he will have to decide if he wants to change the Senate rules and allow cloture at 51 votes.
I don't think a shutdown will happen, it does more politically for the people calling for it if it doesn't happen. | |
