Subject: RE: yields

EC Nebraska
I talked to a farmer from NE Nebraska at a seed corn tailgate before the Husker game yesterday. He told me that he has been on The ProFarmer tour for the last 10 years. Here is what he said about Nebraska. There are about a half of dozen counties in the northeast corner of Nebraska that didn't get inundated this spring and the corn in that area probably will have record yields and Is by and far away the garden spot of Nebraska. However, ever other part of the state the yields are down from last year and he was surprised how average an irrigated crop they found when they got into the typically high yield irrigated areas around Grand Island. He also said se Nebraska south of 1 80 was below average. it was an interesting conversation, and his bottom line, there is no way Nebraska statewide will be above 2014 yields on corn.
