Jesup, IA | From the little bit of corn I have harvested, yields are good, but fall short of 2014 yield reports in C IL.
So far the big surprise to me is the test weight. It's not a +56 tw crop in Iowa. Northern Leaf Blight made for a weaker than desired finish. It's not normal to see the Iowa crop dead and this brown in Mid September.
Drove out to Husker Harvest in past couple days, whole Iowa crop is impacted. This lighter than anticipated -56 tw corn isn't going to "weigh up" into as many bushels as hoped IMHO. Maybe or maybe not the trade will recognize this.
