Buxton ND | Maize I maybe bet you to the punch but was not thinking us this,
"That's less than the cost of commercial storage to the end of February........ and no downside risk"
Lots of grain goes on commercial storage, one's gonna most likely spend the money on the storage anyways, sell the corn, buy the call (SAME DAY BTW) and your long March corn at 4.20 at NO COST, and as you pointed out *****NO BLOODY RISK*****
This is a win win win, please keep an open mind here :o)
Its a win for the commercial as they get the handle plus moves to the corn to make room for the next handle, better basis hopefully on the next handle.
Its a win for the end user or importing country,,, we have lots of corn that needs a home,,, the more we get ride now of the better the chances of a better basis later.
Its a win for the producers you have CASH (yes you may not like the price) BUT YOUR STILL LONG the corn, at NO COST and NO RISK. | |
