EC WI
Our clamp is on a crushed rock/screenings pad that is about 8-10" deep. We chop into rear unload forage wagons. We pack with a 8430 JD with a degelman blade. The first 3-4 loads just cover the ground packed, then we start packing. Spread about 6" deep and pack, pack, pack. We size ours to take 8-12" off of the face everyday. The center 2/3rds goes to the cows, the outer 1/3rds that isn't spoiled goes to the heifers.

Cover with plastic, run tire sidewalls in a line down the center lengthwise. We then work from the center down to the edge with the tires. Quarter bucket of screenings along at the bottom to help seal the air out.

Get a facer, it will pay for itself.
