Subject: One real ugly yield

Central Illinois
Talked to a neighbor who farms a piece of ground anyone would love to farm, except for one thing. It really needs tile. Badly needs tile. Drowned out spots included, he is running around a hundred bushels, less than half the farm average last year. (rotated beans/corn) Now there may not be many acres like this, or they may be offset by the rolling ground where the water got off.

I guess what I am saying, about MY farms, is that we will have close to an average crop, down 15% from last year. And we supposedly have been in a garden spot of Illinois. I know thirty miles south of us, their wet holes are large and numerous. I haven't heard anything from that area yet. They got planted a bit later than normal because of the rain.
