You're not wrong about this. Generates a sizable insurance claim for many with mediocre or worse yields, drop unsold bushels in the bin and generate some cash sealing them at CCC, and ride out the bounce later. Those are tools and strategy the producer of physical grain can leverage that aren't available to those evil traders in Chicago. If there's another leg lower in the corn market there is no possible better time to do it than the next six weeks. |
