waterloo iowa | I went to a land auction 2 years ago pretty sure I would get a farm,It set between a couple 80 year olds that had no kids in the state.I bid once and then it was a blur between the old guys it went for 14,000 an acre,both the old guys said that they weren't buying it for themselves ,but just bought it in case their kids,(who are in their 60s) would ever want to come back then they could get rid of the hired man and keep the son busy.At rent auctions it id similar,somebody owns 480 in a section they will pay whatever it takes for rent in the thought they will have their foot in the door if it is ever sold. | |
