What would grain prices be if we had another 25 million acres in production? If you want to complain about crp why not crop insurance? How many young or small farmers don't exist because crop insurance allows guys to grow large with minimal risk?
Crop insurance and prevented planting also hurts young farmers. Where did I say that insurance did not hurt the young guys? Crp is nothing more than welfare in a bad way. Pays us to sit arround and do nothing, just like the bums do in the hood. And as far as more production, well other countries have picked up where we left ground sit and have increased the production. Any way you put it, crp cost farmers in increased rent and increased land cost. |
