SE Manitoba | Reading one of the other threads comment was made that land ownership and farming need to be decoupled.
Land rents have been pushed to where the risk in rented land is very high.
Large scale corporate ownership bases land rental fees on maximum annual return doesn't give a rip about maximum return over say a 5 year (or 7 better yet 10 year) rotational package.
Smaller scale owners base their wanted upon the big corporate's rates.
Buying land takes a down payment that keeps most out of trying.
