Northeast central NE | Amen brother. I don`t farm with government funded crop insurance, how many that just bagged on CRP can say that? The CRP program is taking acres away from young farmers? really? The insurance guarantee did more damage to the farm economy than any other government subsidy ever! I mean EVER. Acres my grandfather had never seen farmed torn up bulldozed down and farmed not because it would pay the first year, all because of the holy grail county average welfare payment for the second year. Fine if you want to pay the insurance bill to have revenue protection just shell out the dough it would take with out uncle Sammy`s gift. Long live the CRP program and kill government subsidized crop insurance. If you need a guarantee that you will make money farming, find a new occupation. End rant but damn people, the acres that go into CRP most generally belong there. | |
