I could get $30 per acre more than I'm renting it out for......But I like sitting on the front porch and watching the crops grow...
And your land stays clean and productive. Almost every crp field here is overgrown with trees and noxious weeds. This program is doing nothing but hurting the young guys who want to farm. They take away the opportunity because they can not compete with the long term high $ rent Uncle Sam is willing to pay. Another example of using your tax dollars against you if you farm for a living. |
