Subject: RE: Government payments to the rescue?

East central Iowa, Camanche, Iowa
The way I am looking at these payments is that they are helping me get my financial house in order after 5-6 years of somewhat reckless spending. As goofy as it may sound, it takes a farmer a while to ramp up his spending at the beginning of the good times and it also takes while to ramp down spending during bad times.

Sadly, many guys have over extended themselves making financial commitments that are impossible to keep during the bad times. For those guys, it just delays the inevitable. The financial institutions are a lot smarter this go around making the farmer put up more equity.
