I think that is an honest answer that has some merits, but it is not quite that simple. Ethanol is/was part of that equation no doubt, but crop insurance, fund money running commodities too high and people wanting a lifestyle change were all also part of the equation, with crop insurance the biggest in my opinion. All came together in a perfect storm for grass destruction, no doubt about it. Now we have cows coming to town because of great prices and the 60+ aged producer just got a pretty nice retirement plan and grass is still being broke at these prices----crazy.
