Hope I answered most of those up above- but essentially, so long as you keep the plastic intact, no oxygen can get to the corn.  Therefore virtually no spoilage.  I'll state again that I wouldn't hold one so long if I couldn't watch it, we had bagged corn 10 and 20 miles from home and it was all gone a LONG time ago.
