the op's original point was an engine tuned to run on ethanol does so very efficiently, better than gasoline engine tuned to run on gasoline. I take it you don't like ethanol. That's fine. Burn your high dollar gas.
You can believe that if you want but it would be wrong.
If you take two engines that have the same amount of "proper tuning" done to them. One for gas the other for ethanol, the gas one will produce more work on less fuel.
Race engines are very very finely tuned for the fuel they burn and the atmospheric conditions at the time of the race, street cars are not even close to being that tuned for burning gas.
I burn ethanol in every gas engine that I have and have been doing so for 20+ yrs but I don't see the need to fabricate lies to sell the stuff.
If you start lying about the product you're trying to sell you are no better than those that are telling the lies against your product.
