Ben,

Input costs, like rents, haven't come down in lockstep with grain prices. So true.

Your comment in another post about family living really rings true as well.

During our teen years in the 70s, my aunt and uncle supported a family of 3 kids with 150 beef cows and I'm guessing 25 sows farrow to finish and were making payments on their ground (minimal tillable acres). No cell phones, affordable health costs, lower college tuition, no expensive club sports, and on and on. I really tried raising my family somewhat frugally but kind of threw up the white flag several years ago.

LOL!! You found me out Ben. Fond memories of the Ruan Center basement. I'm short on time today but will email you in the next week or so.
