yes, basically direct offspring of some feral barn cats.

I though saving its life at an early age would have alot of bearing on its temperment, but it appears alot of it is inherited.

Luckily, there are many nights that it spends outside, it is finally trained to the point that there is no litter box, and it does its thing outside, so lots of outdoor time.
