Some truth to that, Boone.  However, the fertilizer people learned a lesson about their supply and price structure last time too.  By holding out till in-season, I was able to buy sidedress NH3 for not far from 1/2 of what it had been the previous fall.  Fertilizer prices have never been allowed to tumble like that since the debacle of 2008-9, even in the face of a far longer decline in grain prices.

Yeah...$700/ton NH3 quoted for this fall. That doesn't work at all!
