Subject: RE: Cat 65B track coming off problem?

Rubber tracks running off to the inside on a Challenger tractor has been going on for as many years as the Challenger has been produced. They never run off to the outside and just lay on the ground. They run off to the inside and get wadded up in an area that you could never imagine they would fit. The belt gets damaged every time this happens. It is the nature of the design and the Operator and the steep slopes are the problem. There have been numerous after-market designs of track guards to fit between the drawbar and the belt to try and keep them from coming off. They run off the rear driver to begin with. Run it on flat land and you'll not have a problem. Challengers have improved over the years to help prevent this, but yours is about as old as it gets. Building a pond is about the worst thing you can do when it comes to tracks running off.
